But we aren't there yet in terms of the 50 in 50, thanks to my much-delayed blogging. In those halcyon pre-pandemic days, we could actually go 50 miles south to our former residence of Eugene for a pub and a show.
Claim 52 Kitchen, downtown, is a nice little pub with a lot of crazy beers. We tried three selections:
Thicc: Raspberry Lemonade
Admiral of the Red
Mais Oui
Only Admiral Red (as it's now called on the website) is still on tap, with its "notes of creme brulee." The Raspberry Lemonade was a nice gose. I think Mais Oui was a saison of some kind, but I can't quite remember. (It might have been my second.)
Thicc must be the name for a rotating gose/sour, as the present one sounds like one I totally have to try:
Thicc: Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
Puree Gose 5.0%
Brewed with brown sugar. Conditioned on graham cracker, vanilla, cinnamon, pineapple puree and sweet cherry puree.
Some notable food: pickle fries! Tasty, but a bit too much for two people. The crispy cauliflower was really good, though.
